Sketching Practice
Conclusion
1. What is a technical sketch? What is an artistic sketch? How are the two similar and how are they different?
A technical sketch is a drawing of an object to scale, accurate to spatial distribution, and detailed.
An artistic sketch is a drawing of something where dimensions can be exaggerated.
Both artistic and technical sketches demonstrate an object and how it looks. However, a technical sketch is more accurate in demonstrating an object's dimensions.
2. How do you envision applying your sketching in other classes?
Sketching could be useful in other classes such as art, when it comes to drawing an object accurately and in proportion.
3. How do you envision applying your sketching skills in college?
These sketching skills could be helpful in college when we are making blueprints of something.
4. How would you teach sketching to a student next year?
I would teach a student sketching next year by first explaining to them the similarities, and then the differences, between technical and artistic sketches. Afterwards, I would get them to draw multiple - simple - examples of these different sketches.
